Basketball Recap: Hemingway Takes a Loss

Hemingway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Latta Vikings, falling 64-29. One positive for the Tigers, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Latta to victory, but perhaps none more so than Azarriona Mcrae, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine boards. Those 14 points gave Mcrae a new career-high. Kaliya Herman was another key player, putting up 14 points along with five boards and three steals.

Hemingway's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Latta, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hemingway will venture away from home to face off against Carvers Bay at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hemingway has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Latta, they will challenge Lake View at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
