St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute is 9-1 against Bishop Timon-St. Jude since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Marauders will host the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute has three straight wins, Bishop Timon-St. Jude has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
While St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute's victory against St. Francis wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Marauders narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Red Raiders 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Marauders have posted since May 10th.
Michael Berger looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Dominic Floccare and Michael Pegnia did most of the damage at the plate: Floccare went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Pegnia went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most hits Pegnia has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was James VanEgmond, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Bishop Timon-St. Jude's offense. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Nichols on Tuesday.
Bishop Timon-St. Jude saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ian Wasielewski, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute's win bumped their record up to 10-11-1. As for Bishop Timon-St. Jude, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.
St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute was able to grind out a solid victory over Bishop Timon-St. Jude when the teams last played back in April, winning 6-2. Will the Marauders repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
