Pomona is on a three-game streak of home losses, the Lions a three-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Pomona Panthers will take on the Littleton Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Pomona has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Even though Conifer scored an imposing 58 points on Saturday, Pomona still came out on top. Pomona walked away with a 68-58 victory over the Lobos. Pomona pushed the score to 60-35 by the end of the third, a deficit the Lobos cut but never quite recovered from.
Pomona's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joshua James led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten assists. James also pulled down eight rebounds for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dj Hawkins, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Littleton beat the Pirates 51-39 on Monday.
Pomona's victory bumped their record up to 5-14. As for Littleton, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-12 record this season.
Pomona was able to grind out a solid win over the Lions in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, winning 55-42. Does Pomona have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
