The Unity Christian Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 45-18 loss at the hands of Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Unity Christian has suffered against Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond since March 1, 2021.
It was another big night for Claire Seal, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 17 rebounds for Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond. That makes it four consecutive games in which Seal has scored at least a third of Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Casteel, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Unity Christian has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 14 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-19 record this season. As for Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond, their win bumped their record up to 14-10.
Unity Christian will head out on the road to take on Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Heritage is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. Arthur-Lovington/Atwood-Hammond will take on Central A & M at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
