Softball Recap: Enterprise's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Enterprise had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against the Redding Christian Lions on Friday as they made off with a 14-2 victory. With that win, the Hornets brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.

Maya Hubbs made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. What's more, she posted two strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Carly Graham and Sadie Ross did most of the damage at the plate: Graham went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Ross went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Emma Souza, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

The victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 5-10. As for Redding Christian, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Enterprise will welcome Pleasant Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something the Hornets surely won't give up without a fight. As for Redding Christian, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Los Molinos at 4:00 p.m.
