Basketball Recap: Bethel Assembly Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Bethel Assembly Christian Academy lost against New Life Academy back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Bethel Assembly Christian Academy Eagles came up short against the New Life Academy Bobcats, falling 61-40. The Eagles were down 47-24 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the loss, Bethel Assembly Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from McKinley Conner, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds. Conner has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last ten times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah White, who posted five points.

It was another big night for Dontrel Lee, who put up 22 points for New Life Academy. That makes it five consecutive games in which Lee has scored at least a third of New Life Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Timothy Bradshaw, who had 14 points.

Bethel Assembly Christian Academy dropped their record down to 2-11 with the defeat, which was their 18th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for New Life Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-4.

Bethel Assembly Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 51-43 loss against Victory Christian on the 14th. New Life Academy has also already played their next contest, a 65-55 win against Rock Church on the 16th.
