Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division III recap Oct. 23, 2012
McPherson extended the longest winning streak in Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division III this week by beating Abilene, 47-14. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Bullpups.
McPherson was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after defeating the Cowboys. Tom Young's team came in at 24 in the state poll after placing at number 26 last week.
Mulvane's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Ty Redington threw for 295 and three touchdowns and Alex Evans had 218 yards receiving. On the ground Michael Mason chipped in 134 yards. Collin Dempsey helped Mulvane's passing attack out by catching four balls for 92 yards.
The Wildcats' Redington and Evans have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Redington has thrown for 1849 yards this season, while Evans, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 67 catches for 1188 yards. The Bullpups' Austin Obannon leads the league in rushing yards with 768.
Going into this week's game against Clearwater, Mulvane's Redington needs 151 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season.
McPherson took down Abilene 47-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Kyler Kinnamon threw for 168 yards and one touchdown and ran for 32 yards in the win.
