The Chatfield Chargers's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They secured a 39-34 W over Arvada West. For Chatfield, this counts as revenge for the 59-47 defeat Arvada West walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Chatfield got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Audrey Hubbell out in front who scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Hubbell scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Reed, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Arvada West lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Sara Walker, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Harrison, who scored nine points.
Chatfield has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Arvada West, they bumped their record down to 9-5 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chatfield will challenge Columbine at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Columbine is ranked 47th, while Chatfield is ranked 31st). Arvada West's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lakewood at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th. Lakewood has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 7.
