Meanwhile, D'Evelyn hadn't done well against Bear Creek recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way  on Saturday. The Jaguars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  3-2  win over the Bears.
 D'Evelyn took Bear Creek into a fifth set  where they got it done with a eight-point win. The final score came out to 25-17, 18-25, 22-25, 25-22,  15-7.
 D'Evelyn's victory was  their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which  pushed their record up to 10-1. As for Alameda, they now  have a winning record of 6-5.
 Alameda suffered a grim  3-0 defeat to D'Evelyn  in their previous meeting  back in April of 2024. Can the Pirates avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
