The Wando Warriors''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Socastee, falling 47-7. Wando was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Socastee apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Harris Stone threw for 109 yards on 15 of 32 attempts. Carter Adams was his top target, picking up 46 receiving yards. On the ground, Reggie Grant rushed for 63 yards and a touchdown.
Rocco Wojcik was a one-man wrecking crew for Socastee as he rushed for 146 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also threw for 157 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes. Wojcik's longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards. Jonathan Goswick made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Wando's loss was their fourth straight on the road , which bumped their record down to 1-9. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.5 points per game. As for Socastee, their win bumped their record up to 3-8.
Wando does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Socastee will head out on the road to face off against Fort Dorchester at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Fort Dorchester presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Socastee in South Carolina (Fort Dorchester is ranked 25th, while Socastee is ranked 112th).
