Basketball Game Preview: Orange Vista Coyotes vs. Canyon Springs Cougars

Orange Vista has gone 6-0 against Canyon Springs recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Orange Vista Coyotes just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Canyon Springs Cougars at 6:30 p.m. Orange Vista knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Canyon Springs likes a good challenge.

Orange Vista is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 90-31 victory over Heritage. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-20.

Orange Vista's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Henry Washington, who went 6 for 10 on his way to 14 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. Washington has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last ten times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Suttle, who went 5 of 9 en route to 11 points and four steals.

Orange Vista smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Canyon Springs can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 79-52 victory over Heritage.

Orange Vista has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.1 points per game. As for Canyon Springs, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
