The Chiles Timberwolves's 20-6 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were beaten by Lincoln 65-30 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Chiles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 392nd, while Lincoln is ranked 166th).
Kaitlyn Fagan was Chiles' leading scorer, having posted 13 points.
Macey Hartman held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.
Lincoln's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jamesia Smith, who scored 20 points along with five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Smith has scored at least 25% of Lincoln's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amari Johnson, who scored 16 points.
Chiles' defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Lincoln, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chiles will face off against Wakulla at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lincoln, they will head out on the road to face off against FAMU DRS at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully FAMU DRS focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 53 on Saturday.
