The Mullen Mustangs are taking a road trip to  take on the Regis Jesuit Raiders  at 6:30  p.m.  on Friday. Mullen will come in still looking for their first win of the season.
 Mullen is headed in fresh off scoring the most  points they have all season. They came up short against  Valor Christian on Friday, falling  46-20. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings  (they are ranked 31st, while the Eagles are ranked third).
 Despite their  defeat, Mullen saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays.  Mason Bonner, who picked up 119 receiving yards and a touchdown, was perhaps the best of all. Mullen also got help from  Amare Kyle, who showed off his sure hands for 110  receiving yards.
 Meanwhile,  after only seven  points in their last  game, Regis Jesuit made sure to put some  points up on the board against Fossil Ridge  last Thursday. Regis Jesuit was the clear victor by  a  35-14 margin over Fossil Ridge. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Raiders' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.
 Regis Jesuit's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Luke Rubley, who threw for 247 yards and two touchdowns.  Garrett Reece helped  Rubley out on the ground, picking up 42 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 53 yards.
 On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Regis Jesuit's defense and their nine sacks. The heavy lifting was done by  Grayson Mcpherson and  Jace Filleman, who racked up  5.5 sacks between them.
 Mullen's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Regis Jesuit, their victory  ended  a  three-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 1-3.
 Mullen lost to Regis Jesuit on the road  by a decisive  35-21 margin  when the teams last played  back in September of 2021. Thankfully for Mullen,  Exander Carroll (who threw for 229 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 127 yards while picking up 7.9 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time.
