This season hasn't been kind to the Schlarman Hilltoppers, who are still winless after their eighth contest. They had to suffer through a rough 58-17 loss at the hands of Chrisman. Schlarman has not had much luck with Chrisman recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Schlarman struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Chrisman posted 13 assists.
Chrisman found their leader in underclassman Taylor Jones, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Jones set a new season high mark in blocks with four. Bailey Presslor was another key contributor, scoring six points along with four steals.
Schlarman bumped their record down to 0-8 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 12.7 points per game. As for Chrisman, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Schlarman will take on Cissna Park at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cissna Park's defense has only allowed 29.4 points per game this season, so Schlarman's offense will have their work cut out for Schlarman. As for Chrisman, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Charleston at 6:00 p.m. Charleston is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
