Even though the Westminster Lions have not done well against the Ocean View Seahawks recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Westminster came out on top against Ocean View by a score of 72-64. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leading Westminster to victory were MJ Gaza and Eric Hoang. Gaza scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and five assists, while Hoang scored 26 points. Hoang continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Tran, who scored 14 points.
Despite the loss, Ocean View still got an impressive performance from Brayden Ackerman, who dropped a double-double on 33 points and ten rebounds. Ackerman hasn't dropped below 15points for six straight games. Blake Girotti was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
