Basketball Recap: Beauregard Extends Winning Streak to Five

Beauregard came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 33-22 victory over the Reeltown Rebels. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 52-20 last Monday.

Leading Beauregard to victory were Lindsey Moulton and Lay Clark. Moulton went 5 of 12 on her way to 15 points in addition to seven boards and three steals, while Clark posted five points along with seven rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance gave Clark a new career-high in boards.

Beauregard smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Beauregard's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.3 points per game. As for Reeltown, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beauregard will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on LAMP at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Reeltown also won't see the court for a while: their next game is against Notasulga at 5:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
