Having just played yesterday, the Woodlawn Cardinals will jump right back in to play the Newton Eagles  at 1:30  p.m.  on Saturday. Woodlawn will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Woodlawn saw some tournament action  on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy  59-41 victory over Lawrenceville.
Woodlawn's win  was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from   Ashtyn Griffin, who  almost  dropped  a double-double on 13  points and nine  boards. Griffin is trending in the right direction considering she's  improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of  Sophia Skinner, who  posted 15  points along with five  assists and five  boards.
 Woodlawn was working as a unit and  finished the game with 16  assists. That's the most  assists they've posted since back in February.
 Meanwhile, Newton blew past Webber, posting  a  64-24 win. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight  matches by 21  points or more this season.
 Woodlawn has  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won seven of their last eight games,  which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record  this season. As for Newton,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 9-3.
 Woodlawn didn't have too much breathing room in their  contest against Newton  in their previous matchup  back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with  a  51-46 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was  Newton's  Karasyn Martin, who  put up 13 points in addition to eight  boards and four  steals. Now that she's  got a second chance to win this matchup, will Woodlawn still be able to contain  Martin? There's only one way to find out.
