Basketball Recap: Army-Navy Takes a Loss

After flying high against Valley Center on Monday, Army-Navy came back down to earth. The Warriors took a blow against the Cathedral Catholic Dons on Wednesday, falling 70-41. The Warriors were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-20.

Army-Navy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Yanler Ramos, who posted 18 points. Ramos continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ivan Marchenko, who scored 12 points.

Among those leading the charge was Tyler Vosburgh, who put up 11 points and six boards. Those six rebounds gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Meza, who shot 63% from the field on his way to 11 points and five boards.

Army-Navy's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Cathedral Catholic, they pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Army-Navy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 44-40 win against Steele Canyon on the 5th. As for Cathedral Catholic, they have also already played their next matchup, a 54-49 victory against Torrey Pines on the 5th.
