The Mauldin Mavericks can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against J.L. Mann by a score of 73-60. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Mauldin was led to victory by Braden Hershberger and Jordan Sullivan. Hershberger scored 21 points along with five assists and three steals, while Sullivan scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Sullivan pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Alverez Smith, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Mauldin's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for J.L. Mann, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Hillcrest the next time they take the court. Mauldin will host Hillcrest at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while J.L. Mann will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
