The Summertown Eagles will challenge the Community Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Summertown took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over Spring Hill. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won four in a row.

Ryder Blackwood was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Blackwood was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Summertown's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 7-8 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Summertown let Aiden Perez and Cecil Williams run wild. Perez went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Williams got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Williams has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Jackson Bennett, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Community hadn't done well against Central Magnet recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Vikings had just enough and edged out Central Magnet 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Vikings have posted since April 21, 2025.
Summertown's win bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Community, their victory bumped their record up to 3-18-1.
Summertown was able to grind out a solid win over Community when the teams last played back in May of 2025, winning 5-0. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
