The Minersville Battlin' Miners have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three  games by 25  points or more this season. They took their  matchup at home  on Wednesday with ease, bagging a  63-32 win over Pine Grove. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest  win Minersville has managed all season.
 Minersville found their leader in underclassman  Dante Carr, who  scored 27 points along with seven  rebounds and five  assists. That makes it nine consecutive games in which  Carr has scored at least 25% of Minersville's points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Lorenzo Yourey, who  scored nine points along with four  blocks.
 Minersville is  on a roll lately: they've  won four of their last five matchups,  which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Pine Grove, they  still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
 Minersville will head out on the road to face off against Susquenita at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. Susquenita will have to bring their A-game into this one,  as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 657th, while Minersville is ranked 235th). Pine Grove will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Tamaqua at 7:00  p.m.  on January 4, 2024.
