Hernando Christian Academy found their leader in underclassman Jaden Montzka, who scored 24 points. Montzka has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Hedick, who scored 15 points.
American Collegiate Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Jeremis Lopez and Tyrese Lowe. Lopez scored nine points along with four steals, while Lowe scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and four blocks.
Hernando Christian Academy's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-12. As for American Collegiate Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hernando Christian Academy will challenge Indian Rocks Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Indian Rocks Christian is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games. As for American Collegiate Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against American Youth Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. American Youth Academy is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home.
