Softball Recap: Frederick Wins Going Away Against Wheat Ridge

Frederick won the last time they faced Wheat Ridge and things went their way on Friday too. The Golden Eagles were the clear victors by a 20-1 margin over the Farmers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Golden Eagles.

Elayna Fisher was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Fisher was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, one triple, and one double. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Ella Stromberg was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brealea Stendel, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

Frederick always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .724. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wheat Ridge only posted an OBP of .273.

Frederick now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Wheat Ridge, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Frederick has already played their next matchup, a 9-3 victory against Dakota Ridge on the 23rd. Wheat Ridge has also already played their next game (against Eagle Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
