Morgan is 8-2 against the Owls since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Morgan Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Covington Owls at 7:30 p.m. Morgan will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak.
Last Friday, Morgan didn't have too much trouble with the Hornets at home as they won 59-44.
Morgan got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Adrian Alonzo out in front who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Alonzo has scored at least a third of Morgan's points. Another player making a difference was Zach Mitchell, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 18 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Covington's game on Friday was all tied up 23-23 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They strolled past Blum with points to spare, taking the game 67-52.
Morgan pushed their record up to 20-1 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home. As for Covington, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-11 record this season.
Morgan came out on top in a nail-biter against the Owls in their previous meeting back in January, sneaking past 66-63. The rematch might be a little tougher for Morgan since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
