Volleyball Recap: USC Hybrid Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact USC Hybrid can now relate to. They fell 3-1 to the Belmont Sentinels on Monday.

While USC Hybrid had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 24-26, 25-21, 25-18.

USC Hybrid's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marcelo Sousa, who had 30 digs, nine aces, and one block. Sousa is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had 20 or more in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Francisco Sandoval, who had 50 digs.

USC Hybrid's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-7. As for Belmont, their victory bumped their record up to 6-13.

USC Hybrid does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Belmont, they will challenge Burton at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Scorpions will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Sentinels surely won't give up without a fight.
