The Academy for Academic Excellence Knights will square off against the Riverside Prep Silver Knights at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Last Thursday, Academy for Academic Excellence made easy work of Big Bear and carried off an 11-1 win. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.
Haylee Berg was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Berg was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Hayden Gonzales was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Kayla Berg was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Riverside Prep had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. Everything went their way against the Jackrabbits as they made off with a 15-2 win. Considering the Silver Knights have won five matches by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Sadie Martinez looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Bree Garcia was incredible, firing off two home runs and seven RBI while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Bustos, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Academy for Academic Excellence now has a winning record of 7-6-1. As for Riverside Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 7-8.
Everything went Academy for Academic Excellence's way against Riverside Prep when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Academy for Academic Excellence made off with a 15-7 win.
