The Mishawaka Marian Knights will head out on the road to face off against the South Bend Saint Joseph Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
As a matter of fact, Mishawaka Marian put up the most points they have all season on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 64-45 win over Oregon-Davis. While the Knights didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Mishawaka Marian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kariya Byer, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds. Byer's evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Addison O'Hara, who posted 14 points.
Meanwhile, South Bend Saint Joseph waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They took down the Falcons 56-42. Give the Huskies' offense some serious credit: that high-scoring performance was actually the fewest points they've scored all season.
South Bend Saint Joseph's win came from a few key players Mishawaka Marian will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Arianna Rowell, who put up 19 points in addition to five boards and five steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of South Bend Saint Joseph's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Woods, who shot 55% from the field to rack up 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Mishawaka Marian's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for South Bend Saint Joseph, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Mishawaka Marian has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 38.7 boards per game. However, it's not like South Bend Saint Joseph struggles in that department as they've been averaging 37 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Mishawaka Marian couldn't quite get it done against South Bend Saint Joseph in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 as they fell 55-43. Thankfully for the Knights, Kenadie Schrock (who went 10-for-20 en route to 27 points and six steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
