The Homefires Flames lost against the Calvary Baptist Christian Academy Crusaders last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Homefires fell 59-47 to Calvary Baptist Christian Academy. Homefires has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Homefires still got an impressive performance from Colin Chesnut, who scored 20 points. That was a full 42.6% of Homefires' points, marking the 12th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Jeremiah Davis was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Homefires' lineup was just a bit different on Friday as Chesnut got a bit more time on the court (32 vs. his season average of 16.82). Chesnut made the most of the opportunity, scoring 20 points. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
Homefires has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Calvary Baptist Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.
Homefires didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 33-18 victory vs. Varsity Opponent on the 10th. Calvary Baptist Christian Academy has also already played their next match, a 70-45 defeat against Berean Christian on the 9th.
