Basketball Recap: Southern California Academy Piles Up the Points Against Riverdale Baptist

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Southern California Academy). They took their contest on Monday with ease, bagging an 89-49 win over the Riverdale Baptist Crusaders. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Rams with their most commanding win of the season.

Riverdale Baptist's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacoby Briscoe, who posted ten points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ean McLaughlin, who had 12 points and five rebounds.

Southern California Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 4-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points per game. As for Riverdale Baptist, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-5.

Southern California Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 58-56 defeat against Dream City Christian National on the 4th. As for Riverdale Baptist, they will face off against St. Stephen's & St. Agnes at 7:00 p.m. on January 7th. Riverdale Baptist is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.8 points per game this season.
