Softball Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Beachside

Beachside made up a huge gap compared to their last game against St. Joseph Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Barracudas' pitcher stepped up to hand the Flashes a 12-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Barracudas might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by seven runs or more this season.

Vita Lagattolla was a standout: she scored two runs while going 2-for-2. C Harris also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Beachside and bumps their season record up to 13-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for St. Joseph Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-4.

Looking ahead, Beachside will venture away from home to square off against Orange Park at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.5 runs per game on average), something the Barracudas will no doubt try to take advantage of. St. Joseph Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
