AA Region VI recap October 22, 2013
Derrell Myers and Gavin Bush provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Woodland. The longest such play in AA Region VI this season, the connection resulted in 60 yards.
Bishop England was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fourth to second in the league. Earlier in the week, the Battling Bishops defeated Garrett Academy Tech 59-26.
Ridgeland/Hardeeville's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Myers threw for 115 and 2 touchdowns and Bush had 110 yards receiving. On the ground Ashawn Kemp chipped in 43 yards.
Myers put up the best numbers in passing as the Jaguars lost to the Wolverines. Myers' favorite target this week was Bush, who caught 4 passes for 110 yards.
Ridgeland/Hardeeville's Myers and Bush have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Myers has thrown for 910 yards this season, while Bush has 33 catches for 530 yards. Academic Magnet's Nate Schlosser leads the league in rushing yards with 731.
The top two teams in AA Region VI will face off this week when first place Woodland takes on second place Bishop England.

Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Woodland beat Blake Raley's team 40-20. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Wolverines.
