It was a proper cat-fight when Mount Si challenged Bothell on Friday. The contest between the Wildcats and the Cougars didn't end well, with the Wildcats falling 30-15.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Skyline). They breezed past Woodinville to the tune of 49-14 on Friday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Spartans' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Washington football rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Falcons are ranked 81st).
A big part of Skyline's victory came down to the chemistry between Ben Odom and his top target Bupe Chisanga. Odom threw for 254 yards and three TDs while Chisanga picked up 117 receiving yards and a pair of scores. What's more, Chisanga posted two receiving touchdowns, the most he's had since back in November of 2024. Seyler Jones did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 81 receiving yards.
Skyline didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Woodinville to a completion percentage of just 43.5%. The Spartans weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 73.3%.
Skyline didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Luke Morgan and Hunter Hixson.
Skyline has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Mount Si, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Mount Si couldn't quite finish off Skyline in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 and fell 23-20. Thankfully for the Wildcats, Joshua Menold (who rushed for 119 yards and three touchdowns) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
