Basketball Recap: Andru Pinyan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mary Walker over Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame

Mary Walker was the 68-40 winner over Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Mary Walker Chargers took a 60-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame Knights on Tuesday. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Chargers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Andru Pinyan, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 18 boards. Pinyan has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last nine times he's played. Z'Andre Barker was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 boards.

Even though they lost, Mary Walker smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 27 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in six consecutive matches.

Mary Walker's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Chesterton Academy of Notre Dame, they moved to 2-6 with that victory, which also ended their five-game losing streak.
