The Timnath Cubs will be playing at home against the Brush Beetdiggers at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
On Saturday, Timnath came up short against Loveland Classical and fell 46-38. While losing is never fun, Timnath can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while Loveland Classical is ranked 80th).
Meanwhile, Brush scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They took down Frontier Academy 73-58. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Brush as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brush to victory, but perhaps none more so than Edgar Ortiz, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Ortiz continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Hunter Proctor was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with three steals.
Timnath's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Brush, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-10.
Timnath strolled past Brush in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 43-27. Will Timnath repeat their success, or does Brush have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
