King's Academy entered their tilt with Carolina Academy on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came out on top against the Bobcats by a score of 8-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-4 last Tuesday.

Lucas Fields made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and five RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jackson Alexander, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Brayden Grier, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

King's Academy pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Carolina Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coming up, King's Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Marlboro Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Carolina Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
