The Riverview Sharks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their sixth straight loss. They lost to Gaither on the road by a decisive 74-56 margin. While losing is never fun, Riverview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 678th, while the Cowboys are ranked 272nd).
Despite the loss, Riverview still got an impressive performance from Bryson Kearney, who scored 27 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kearney has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Elijah Gilroy, who scored seven points.
Leading Gaither to victory were Rico Kindred and Marc Fransberg. Kindred scored 16 points, while Fransberg scored 16 points. Dante Sanchez was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Riverview dropped their record down to 3-16 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Gaither, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-10.
Riverview's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Hawks at 8:00 p.m. on January 30th. Armwood is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 50.9 points per game this season. As for Gaither, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Wolves at 6:30 p.m. on January 30th.
