The Victor Blue Devils will challenge the Churchville-Chili Saints at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Victor is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.7 runs per game this season.
Victor gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against Brockport as they made off with a 12-3 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for Victor.
Izzy Law looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
On the hitting side, Ryleigh Fontana was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two triples, two runs, and two RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Abby Harris, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Victor kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Churchville-Chili fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Spencerport on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Rangers by a score of 6-5. The Saints' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Bailey DiGiacomo spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Churchville-Chili saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaitlyn Pozzuolo, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Pozzuolo has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.
Churchville-Chili's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Victor, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Victor took their win against Churchville-Chili in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 17-2 score. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Saints turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
