For the first time this season, Shiloh Christian will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will square off against the Greenwood Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,081 yards in their previous games.
Shiloh Christian is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Bethany: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Saints blew the Bronchos out of the water with a 72-0 final score. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Saints' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked third in Arkansas, while the Bronchos are ranked 41st in Oklahoma).
Cole Creighton had an outrageously good game as he threw for 296 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes. Max Eldridge was in the mix too, providing Shiloh Christian with two scores.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Shiloh Christian proved: they limited Bethany to a paltry 1.8 yards per carry. While three picked up at least four total tackles, Eldridge stood above the rest. He rushed for 21 yards and a pair of TDs. Shiloh Christian didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.5.
Shiloh Christian's defense didn't let Brody McLaren., get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for three sacks. Aiden Pullin was especially locked on to Bethany's QB and sacked him twice. Silas Nantze got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Greenwood's game two weeks ago was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 43-42 victory over Har-Ber. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
A big part of Greenwood's victory came down to the chemistry between Kane Archer and his top target Champ Davis. Archer rushed for 117 yards and three touchdowns while Davis gained 248 total yards and two touchdowns.
Greenwood's record is now 3-0. As for Shiloh Christian, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Shiloh Christian might still be hurting after the 61-35 defeat they got from Greenwood when the teams last played back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Archer, who rushed for 131 yards and four scores while picking up 7.3 yards per carry, and also threw for 321 yards and three TDs while completing 75.9% of his passes. Now that the Saints know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
