Green River hasn't had much luck against Wayne recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Green River Pirates will square off against the Wayne Badgers at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Green River's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 13 contests.
Last Friday, Green River really took it to Whitehorse for the full four quarters, racking up a 72-43 victory. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 24 points or more this season.

Rolando Anguiano was his usual excellent self, going 10 for 16 on his way to 27 points and six steals. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jason Hernandez, who posted 20 points and six assists.
Meanwhile, Wayne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 70-45 to Panguitch. The Badgers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-19.
Green River will need focus on slowing down Hunter Robins, one of several Wayne players who made an impact when they last played. He went 7 of 12 en route to 18 points. The dominant performance gave Robins a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Lee, who put up 12 points and five rebounds.
Green River's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-5. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 38 points. As for Wayne, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.
Keep an eye on the arc in Thursday's matchup: Green River has been dynamite from deep this season, having drained 37.6% of their three-pointers per game. It's a different story for Wayne, though, as they've only made 24.7% of their threes this season. Given Green River's sizable advantage in that area, Wayne will need to find a way to close that gap.
Green River suffered a grim 65-39 defeat to Wayne when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Thankfully for Green River, Jake Batty (who went 10 for 13 on his way to 20 points along with six boards and four steals) won't be suiting up this time.
