University Liggett extended the longest winning streak in Michigan Independent this week by beating Oakland Christian, 46-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Knights.
University Liggett took down the Lancers 46-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Nate Gaggin threw for 112 yards and one touchdown and ran for 120 yards in the win.
Lou Ray's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Thomas Jackson helped University Liggett's passing attack out by catching one ball for 30 yards.
Drew Jerome was the best wideout in the league this week as the Knights beat Oakland Christian. Jerome racked up three receptions for 45 yards.
University Liggett's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Knights feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Gaggin has thrown for 1062 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Jerome has 27 catches for 388 yards. Gaggin also leads the league in rushing with 499 yards.
A big matchup in Michigan Independent this week will be when Lutheran Northwest takes on Southfield Christian. The Crusaders are in second place, while the Eagles are in fifth place.
University Liggett led the league in scoring this week after putting up 46 points on Steve Kozak's team. Gaggin in the win.
