The Northview Chiefs suffered their closest loss yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Pensacola Christian Academy by a score of 47-44. Northview has not had much luck with Pensacola Christian Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Several Chiefs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Luke Diamond, who scored 18 points. Diamond's trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of JACOB SPENCE, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 18 rebounds.
Mateus Moreira was the offensive standout of the match as he dropped a double-double on 12 points and 17 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Michael Day, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Northview dropped their record down to 3-10 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Pensacola Christian Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Laurel Hill the next time they take the court. Pensacola Christian Academy will head out to face Laurel Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Northview will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
