The St. Joseph Academy Jaguars will challenge the Lorain Titans at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
St. Joseph Academy will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Magnificat on Wednesday. The Jaguars were the clear victors by an 18-4 margin over the Blue Streaks.

Emily Johnson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, St. Joseph Academy got a massive performance out of Sylvia Mittendorf, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI Mittendorf has posted since back in April of 2024. Amelia Reyes was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.
St. Joseph Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .639. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Lorain made easy work of Bedford on Monday and carried off a 19-7 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Titans.
Olivia Charlton tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off only one hit. That hit was her first of the season.
On the hitting side, Ja'Ly Cortes was a standout: she scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Jazlyn Miller, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and four RBI.
St. Joseph Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Lorain, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. St. Joseph Academy has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .494. However, it's not like Lorain struggles in that department as they've averaged .521. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
