After a string of six wins, Caurus Academy's's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were beaten by Wickenburg Christian Academy 60-25. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Caurus Academy has scored all season.
Evan Gustin continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Wickenburg Christian Academy, scoring 25 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. The match was Gustin's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ross Egan, who scored eight points.
Caurus Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-1. As for Wickenburg Christian Academy, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0.
Caurus Academy will head out on the road to face off against Estrella at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Estrella will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Caurus Academy is ranked 67th). Wickenburg Christian Academy will be home for the holidays to greet Leupp Boarding at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
