After each having a week off, the Shelton Chargers and the McKinney Christian Academy Mustangs will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 834 yards in their previous games.
Shelton will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up seven points back in September, then bounced right back against Newman International Academy last Friday. The Chargers claimed a resounding 49-14 victory over the Warriors. The Chargers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Shelton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Max Boul, who rushed for 148 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry. Those 148 rushing yards gave Boul a new career-high. Owen Myers was another major influence, as he rushed for 69 yards and ran in a TD.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Shelton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 362 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
McKinney Christian Academy played against Keene last Friday and won via forfeit.
McKinney Christian Academy's win came from a few key players Shelton will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Cody Dow, who rushed for 122 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries, and also threw for 156 yards and three touchdowns. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. Angel Rivera helped out on the ground, rushing for 91 yards and two rushing touchdowns.
McKinney Christian Academy pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Shelton, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-3.
Everything came up roses for Shelton against McKinney Christian Academy when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 61-21 win. In that game, the Chargers amassed a halftime lead of 40-14, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
