Softball Recap: Ragsdale Has No Trouble Against Western Guilford

Ragsdale's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Western Guilford Hornets as Ragsdale made off with a 16-1 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by seven runs or more this season.

Gracie Jet Cuthrell was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Cuthrell was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Alexis Gray, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gracie Hitchcock, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Ragsdale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Western Guilford only posted an OBP of .429.

Ragsdale's record now sits at 9-4. As for Western Guilford, they dropped their record down to 2-9 with the defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Ragsdale has already played their next contest, a 15-0 loss against Northern Guilford on the 28th. As for Western Guilford, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 22-10 defeat against Parkland on the 27th.
