The Resurrection Christian Cougars put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on University with a sharp 74-51 victory. Resurrection Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 23 points or more this season.
Leading Resurrection Christian to victory were Ty Yoder and Cade Crutcher. Yoder scored 20 points along with three steals, while Crutcher scored 16 points along with eight steals and six assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Yoder has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jacob Barker, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Coehn Nitzel, who scored 13 points. Connor Weber was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with eight rebounds.
Resurrection Christian pushed their record up to 8-0 with that win, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. As for University, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
Resurrection Christian will head out on the road to face off against Lutheran at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lutheran will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak. As for University, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Berthoud at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
