Basketball Recap: Standing Bear Comes Up Short

On Friday, the Standing Bear Grizzlies came up short against the Plattsmouth Blue Devils and fell 65-54.

Despite the loss, Standing Bear saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Parker Fellers shot 58% from the field to rack up 15 points and seven assists. That's the most points Fellers has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Risueno, who went 6-for-11 on his way to 13 points and five rebounds.

Logan Ksiazek had an outrageously good game for Plattsmouth as he shot 91% from the field en route to 26 points. Another player making a difference was Rylee Johnson, who went 6-for-12 to rack up 13 points.

Standing Bear's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Plattsmouth, their victory bumped their record up to 10-12.

Standing Bear has already played their next match, a 76-47 win against Nebraska City on the 26th. As for Plattsmouth, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 62-48 victory against Ralston on the 22nd.
