The Willow Spring Storm can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They blew past Clayton, posting a 80-21 victory at home. Willow Spring's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Willow Spring got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Taylor Gray out in front who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gray has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayleen Grullon, who scored 14 points along with five steals.
Willow Spring's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Clayton, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Willow Spring will take on Garner at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Garner will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 364th, while Willow Spring is ranked 25th). Clayton on the road again on Tuesday and play against South Garner at 5:30 p.m. on January 30th.
