The Savannah Classical Academy Spartans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 80-32 loss at the hands of Portal. Savannah Classical Academy has struggled against the Panthers recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Portal's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joseph Thomas, who scored 15 points along with six steals. Thomas has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Coleman, who scored 13 points along with five assists and three steals.
Savannah Classical Academy dropped their record down to 2-16 with that defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Portal, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 20-1.
Savannah Classical Academy's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Coastal HomeSchool has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 441 points over their last six games. As for Portal, they will head out on the road to face off against the Buccaneers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. McIntosh County Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
