Snow Hill is 9-1 against Mardela since December of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Snow Hill Eagles will challenge the Mardela Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Snow Hill will be strutting in after a win while Mardela will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Monday, Snow Hill beat Northampton 74-62. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 72nd in Maryland, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 315th in Virginia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Mardela unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against Decatur, falling 51-30. Having soared to a lofty 64 points in the game before, the Warriors couldn't push the score so high this time.

Snow Hill will need focus on slowing down Darion Collins, one of several Mardela players who made an impact when they last played. He almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards. Collins has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last eight times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jo'Ziah Sherwood, who posted seven points and five boards.

Snow Hill pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for Mardela, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-6.

Snow Hill came out on top in a nail-biter against Mardela in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, sneaking past 70-67. The rematch might be a little tougher for Snow Hill since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
